Updates 4/11/08

  1. I have uploaded revised PowerPoint presentations for African American music to Blackboard. Also, I have uploaded the presentation for Japanese art music, including the kabuki film we will study next Thursday.
  2. I have revised the final exam review guide to remove material we have had to omit from the syllabus.

Updates for 4/3/08

  1. PowerPoint presentations for African American and Latin American musics have been posted to Blackboard. Be sure to use the "Custom Show" feature when viewing these. I use these presentations for my courses on jazz and blues, and in those settings I need to go into more detail than is necessary for the World Music course. Selecting the custom show for MUS 351 omits unnecessary slides.
  2. The "panpipe demonstration" mp3 file is posted to Blackboard.
